Often called the Switzerland of Asia, the tiny, ultra-cosmopolitan island city-state of Singapore presents many photo opportunities to capture a diversity of architectural styles–and boasts some, like the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and the transformative Gardens by the Bay project, that have been done on a lavish and grand scale. Here are some images from my parents’ 2012 trip to Asia, curated with an informal “dissertation” on manmade, natural and hybrid attractions.
