This gallery contains 2 photos. What a difference a clear night makes! Tonight’s half-moon was directly overhead the house. Without any trees or clouds to bar the view, this piece of cheese was very bright. There was much less noise present. The first image was taken at maximum zoom in Sunset Mode with flash and on a tripod (which is probably not necessary if you have a very steady hand, as the speed of the shot is quite fast).
The second image (below) was taken at maximum zoom plus absolute (maximum) digital zoom (taking photos at this setting drops the maximum resolution from the original 4000×3000 pixels to 1280×960 pixels), still in Sunset Mode with flash. Only part of the moon is shown, and it is very difficult at this point (even with a tripod) to keep a steady pose.
