A Romantic Shard of Crystal

I’m starting to experiment with shooting glass and crystalline objects in darkened rooms … shooting clear objects in natural daylight creates unwanted shadows. This photo of a cut lead crystal flower vase was taken from an offset angle; it’s more interesting than a headon shot, and less likely to introduce a burst/halo of flash.

A Shard of Crystal

Taken in the Extreme Macro mode. Red overlay/filter, and top and bottom gradient fills were added in post-processing — rather appropriate for the day.
