This gallery contains 2 photos. This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to photograph an osprey. Here it is, sitting in the highest tree at VanDusen Botanical Garden above the manmade pond (which contains koi). We heard the cry and saw the overhead approach of this fish eagle before it landed.
It sat there for a good 10 minutes before flying off to more productive fishing grounds. Even the blue heron wasn’t spotted at the main pond. Photographed at the VanDusen Botanical Garden.
outstanding!

I’m having trouble deciding what one I like more. I like both!

‘close’ still being 150 feet across the pond and 60 feet above ground level! 🙂

thanks, Elle! I’m feeling good that I wasn’t its dinner! teehee! actually, it didn’t catch any fish in the pond, and left after 10 minutes. 🙂
