Oxeye Daisies and the Fly

This gallery contains 3 photos. I wanted so much to call these flowers Shasta Daisies (with the endearing Latin name “superbums”), but they are not. Instead, this is a field full of Oxeye Daisies. A good runnerup name, which offsets the fact that these flowers are quite odoriferous.

An insect is making a beeline for the tallest daisy from stage left. I like the yellow centers of Oxeye Daisies … they remind me of an inflatable pincushion.
