This gallery contains 18 photos. The Secret Garden of Boundary Bay isn’t really much of a secret to its local inhabitants, though to the rest of Metro Vancouver, it may be. I’m glad we stumbled upon it whilst biking to Centennial Beach a couple of years ago.
According to this article, the Secret Garden of Boundary Bay is the amazing creation and ever-evolving decade-long labour of love of local inhabitant Brian Whitehouse. He was inspired to create an oasis of serenity in the wake of the September 11, 2001 tragedy, and The Secret Garden does indeed offer a respite from worldly stresses, as evidenced by its welcome sign. Exotic and colourful flora have been artfully placed throughout this green, living corridor to delight the eyes, mind, heart and soul. Even in late fall and early winter, there is much to attract attention. Flora (and other accompaniments) were photographed in mid-June 2014.
What a beautiful place– I love this post !

I’m sure they’re really good, Takami! It’s just not fair that I have so many in bloom at the same time to photograph! 😀
