This gallery contains 3 photos. Any hopes of this black swan posing in the dignified ‘S’-shaped arch for which swans are photogenically famous for were quickly dashed. But at least this maneuver of it preening is priceless.
It was too busy making sure its feathers were well oiled … amid the odd photobombing of a mallard duck.
Black swans are native to Australia. That would explain why I have never seen them in the “wilds” of Vancouver. Photographed on September 14, 2014, at the Greater Vancouver Zoo.
