Wildlife Up Close: Dromedary

The habitat for the African camel was situated rather remotely from many of the other animal habitats at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Not until we doubled backed in the evening did we happen upon this vegetarian quietly chewing grass while regarding the two of us calmly, its head and neck extended well above the wires of its enclosure.

  1. I notice (at least here, anyway) that many of the ‘less popular (less well-known)’ animals tend to be overlooked by visitors. Which is a pity, because there are so many interesting animals there, not just lions & tigers & gorillas 🙂 I’m glad you were part of his small audience, and even made such nice photos of him ❤
