Wildlife Up Close: Spotted Towhee

Just a few feet away from us is an unusually bold male spotted towhee who’s returning our gaze from the tree limb he’s perched on. Spotted towhees do show up in our backyard from September through to April, but they are lawn feeders who quickly scoot at the sign and sight of humans. Photographed on April 18 at the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary.

Your comments are like chocolate for my soul ... I can never get enough of them! Bonus brownie points for witty comments! I love a good turn of phrase. :)
