African Superb Starling

This gallery contains 2 photos. I’m “in the studio” with an African Superb Starling. A head turner with its lovely iridescent rainbow plumage, a small flock of these pigeon-sized birds can be found, frequently on the wing, at the Bloedel Conservatory.

Once in a while, a few will come down to the feeding stations to have their photos taken. Don’t their colours just take your breath away? This isn’t your grandfather’s average European Starling! πŸ™‚

  1. What a gorgeous bird! I recall from watching nature documentary how some of the most beautiful birds are found in Africa. I haven’t made it to Africa yet (still dreaming of it) but I can admire some of the beauty through photos like yours. Thanks for sharing, 2 thumbs up! ❀
