Deja View with A Lesser Scaup

This gallery contains 2 photos. One of a co-ed flock of five Lesser Scaups, a small diving duck species that make up the less common waterfowl population at Piper Spit / Burnaby Lake. This is the closest that I’ve gotten to a male Lesser Scaup (you can see a bit of greenish/purple iridescence on his left cheek). Photographed on January 30.

Getting the bird’s eye view: I sat close to the edge of the dock to get this stare, made mesmerizing by those glowing yellow orbs.

Your comments are like chocolate for my soul ... I can never get enough of them! Bonus brownie points for witty comments! I love a good turn of phrase. :)
