A Rash of Springtime Goslings

This gallery contains 3 photos. You’ll have to excuse the softness of these photos. 🙂 Canada Geese are so adorable when they’re small. These little ones are feeling drowsy after their morning swim at the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary on May 1.

Even closer: most of the birds at Burnaby Lake/Piper Spit don’t mind getting close to humans. Canada Geese are no exception. One family (not this one — with “just” 9 new pairs of webbed feet) had a staggering 25 new additions!! Photographed on May 3.

That is a heart-melting stare. It’s actually quite hard to isolate the babies when they were near me, but if I didn’t, I would have quite a few out of focus (even if they are naturally fuzzy), as most were not on the same visual plane. Photographed at Burnaby Lake/Piper Spit on May 3.
