Wildlife Up Close: Giraffe

This gallery contains 2 photos. Photographed at the Greater Vancouver Zoo on September 14 was this solitary giant with an impressive set of ossicones. Giraffes are fascinating creatures: they have long necks (6 feet), and long tongues (20 inches). Both help the giraffe eat food that’s high above the heads of every other land-based creature, and even thorny acacia buds are no problem for them to eat.
