Return of the Dark-Eyed Juncos

Nothing heralds autumn like the Dark-Eyed Juncos. They’ve been daily backyard visitors since early September. This one hopped up on an old hockey stick (now a garden stake) five feet away from me–just after I had photographed a male Anna’s hummingbird sipping from the nectar feeder. Taken on the early afternoon of November 17.
