A Valentine’s Day Full Moon

Strange as it sounds, it was actually hard to photograph the Valentine’s Day full moon! My previous settings (and all of the other settings as well) did not work at all, completely overexposing the moon and obliterating all details on it, so I opted for another digital camera that did not turn the moon into a midnight sun.

A Romantic Shard of Crystal

I’m starting to experiment with shooting glass and crystalline objects in darkened rooms … shooting clear objects in natural daylight creates unwanted shadows. This photo of a cut lead crystal flower vase was taken from an offset angle; it’s more interesting than a headon shot, and less likely to introduce a burst/halo of flash.
