This is “The Spat at Piper Spit.” Despite all the Canada Goose goslings who were being trotted out for adoring crowds, there were still brawls going on at Burnaby Lake. This two-way territorial tussle between two Canada Geese illustrates the forces of nature most graphically. When the air (or should that be water?) finally cleared, the combatants went about their everyday business of preening as if nothing had happened. Photographed on May 3. See more at Forces of Nature.
