A closeup of Puget Gold apricot buds flowering during the third week of March (a chilly start to spring), with the original background removed and the subject isolated on a black background. Flowering this early with the threat of April showers to come, these buds may not bear fruit, but they are certainly lovely to look at.
Great shot 🙂
Our apricots are about 15-20mm already, usually ripe by early May – yum 😀

nice! we’ll be lucky to see any, with the April showers still to come.

😦 We have no more than 4-5 weeks left where there is the ‘potential’ for rain (maybe 3-4 times), then it’s dry until late September

thanks Mick. that may be the most beautiful thing to come out of these apricot buds — because the reality is that the fruit is a bit of a pipe dream! 🙂

alas, they’re so short-lived for us 😦 … the very next day after this photo was taken, the white petals had already blown off!

Oh, that’s a pity. Everywhere in the UK has bubbles of beautiful pink and white blossom. They last longer than a day thankfully too. 🙂

the stamens still there, though 🙂
hopefully they bear fruit, but we may need to put brollies over them to protect them from the rains! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Sounds-like a labour of love!! Not to mention an achy arm! 🙂

it’s not too bad, with a stool I can film upside if need be.
the sore arm comes from photographing the birds in the backyard — particularly if they sit on their perches for a long time. 🙂

Hi, I think your site could possibly be having browser compatibility
issues. Whenever I look at your web site in Safari,
it looks fine however, when opening in Internet Explorer, it’s got some overlapping issues.
I simply wanted to give you a quick heads up! Besides that, fantastic
blog!

it shows up without issues for me in the latest versions of IE and Chrome. the overlapping might be because the fonts are too big? thank you 🙂
