Normally a camera-shy and skittish bird that seldom stays still for more than a couple of seconds, the Spotted Towhees have become bolder with the return of spring. They’re now showing up in twos and threes to forage on the back lawn and sing very loudly.
He looks like he’s about to have words with the photographer. 😀

I haven’t heard a towhee around here yet …. can’t wait! The call does a bit irritating though by mid summer 😉

I have only ever heard one “scold” us … even though they show up in numbers. they’re quiet, compared to the Chickadees and House Sparrows.
